Lucas F. M. da Silva is currently Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal, and Director of the Integrated Masters in Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his PhD in bonding of composites from the University of Bristol (UK) in 2004. Prof. da Silva leads the Adhesives Group, composed of post-docs, PhD students and MSc students, regularly organizes international conferences on adhesive bonding, and leads the Portuguese Adhesion Society, which
