Freinet is one of France's most famous pedagogues, but his work is the subject of many misunderstandings and misleading simplifications, which the author dispels by going back to the fundamentals of the thinker's work: free writing, the school walk, printing, student councils, etc. are all techniques developed by Freinet on the basis of pedagogical, political, psychological or epistemological theories, but do these methods and ideas still have a place today? Baptiste Jacomino est docteur en sciences de l’éducation et a enseigné l’histoire et la philosophie de l’éducation. Il est l’auteur de Alain et Freinet : une école contre l’autre ? (L’Harmattan), de Alain (Ellipses) et Camus (Ellipses). Il appartient au comité de rédaction de la revue Le Philosophoire.
